Overview
The Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Unit under the Division of Primary and Preventive Health Services, Bureau of Public Health and Human Services, Ministry of Health and Human Services promotes and supports healthy lifestyle initiatives to reduce the risks of non-communicable diseases. The NCD Unit collaborates with the ministry and community partners to raise awareness and educate the public about NCDs and their risk factors. The unit also promotes, supports, and/or coordinates the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health promotion efforts and NCD-related primary care services including screening, referral, and follow-up diagnostic work and other health system strengthening initiatives. Additionally, the NCD Unit supports and coordinates training and capacity building in NCD-related areas and seeks support and technical assistance from local, regional and international partners on NCD prevention and control efforts.
